Integration Scholarships Program

Fundación Cláritas participates as an associate to the Integration Scholarships Program performed by the Grupo BBVA in Argentina, within its Social Support Actions Plan.

During year 2007, through Fundación Cláritas 40 children and youths of Casa del Niño Lourdes, of the city of Platanos, Buenos Aires Province, benefited from this program.

The program is aimed at youths of 12 to 19 year old coming from low-income families:
- who are in the system of formal education (high school) but whose socioeconomic situation place them under risk of school dropout.
- who are outside the education system, in order to integrate them from the development of technical abilities that would facilitate job opportunities.

The program consists in granting individual annual scholarships as monthly allowance. The scholarships go directly to the family of the grant holder to pay off education expenses and other kind of deficiencies directly influencing in his possibility to attend school and improve education.

Scholarships may be renewed for a maximum period of three years and they include the aid of a facilitator or tutor, who carries out a personalized monitoring that favors the student and his family’s participation and commitment, resulting in greater control and aid in his process of education.
