Personal donations. A key resource to raise funds in Social Organizations
This 6-week course introduces students in the particular aspects of requests of funds to individuals, performing a complete and deep analysis of the subject from the theoretical matters up to the practical application.

Module 2: Understanding donors
• Why people donate?
• Money is necessary but not enough
• Current and potential donors: two worlds to be explored and known in detail
• Communication with donors: step by step and day by day
Module 3: The methods to request
• The pyramid of individual donations
• Big donors and small donations
• Different methods to request donations
• Personal requests
• Written proposals
Module 4: Massive campaigns to obtain personal donations
• Campaigns of donors
• Direct mail (or e-mail) with telephone follow up
• Campaigns of derivatives
Campaigns to increase current donations
• Massive campaigns
Module 5: Developing links with our donors
• The culture of gratitude
• Ethics as central theme
• Transparency and rendering of accounts: how and when to inform donors?
• Rights and duties of donors and of the organization
